The Year of Birds is a yearlong project initiated by two casual birders to see how many birds they can see (in the continental U.S. and Canada) in one year without going overboard and crazy. This is no Big Year for either of them, but more of a 'small year' or maybe even a 'medium year'; something to spur themselves to get out and bird a little more. Along the way they are writing about their experiences being casual birders, along with side notes about the birds that might interest them and tangents that might not.
Damon Orsetti is co-founder, author, and editor of The Year of Birds Blog. When not birding he is a teacher/naturalist at the Delaware Nature Society, writer, freelance biologist, and stay at home father based in Wallingford, Pennsylvania.
Paul Frost is co-founder and author of The Year of Birds Blog. When not birding he is the David Schindler Professor of Aquatic Science at Trent University in Peterborough, Canada.
